Cozy :)

The true meaning of cozy: wrapped up in a warm towel in front of a blazing fire after a warm bubbly bath on a cold winter morning :)

Snowflakes

With the FREEZING temperatures and snow having arrived, we started working on a simple winter theme. I'm hoping to have a snowman party for Seth's fourth birthday, so I thought doing some wintery crafts would help "set the mood" ... decorations are always nice - and ones that I don't have to buy are even better :D We did some paper snowflakes yesterday, and today we made some button snowflakes. I found the idea on pinterest - but it was linked to this website: http://thelastkrystallos.blogspot.ca/2011/11/button-snowflake.html I don't know how to add the link, but I guess if you copy and paste the above address you will get where you need to go! Seth and Maddy both really enjoyed this craft - and I think they look great!

How to Build Those Muscles

Last night while eating supper, Seth and I had a "who has the biggest muscles" competition . . . in his eyes, he is way ahead. In my eyes, well, he is way ahead too :P This led to a discussion on how to make our muscles ever bigger. I tried to convince him spinach and beans would go a long way. His idea? Bake muffins with muscles in them. So there you have it: if you want to build your muscles - eat muscular muffins :)

Guess Who's Four Months Old?!?

My littlest Princess :D Isn't she the cutest? We are so glad she has joined us in this journey ... we can't imagine life without her! She is a smiley baby - except when the camera comes out. Then she just stares intently. She is also my sleepiest baby (yay!!) - and will often sleep from 9 or 10 at night to 8 in the morning (while this may not be impressive to some - for our little family it is nothing short of a miracle!) She still enjoys her playmat and her pink chair, and also got to spend some time in her bumbo chair and jolly jumper this month. We thank God daily for her and can't wait to get to know her more and more!

Through the Eyes of a Three Year Old ....

While reading our ABC book the other day, we came across the letter N: "N is for Nose, what do you smell?" Seth piped up: "I smell my old teddy!" A few seconds later, he added: "Isn't that the best smell ever, mom?" So precious - a glimpse into his life ... what gives him comfort :D

My very first post! I don't know if this blogging thing is really for me or not - I guess I'll find out! So, why a blog? I have no real ambition to add insight or to encourage thought-provoking discussions to the interent world. I'm guessing there is plenty of that already! Rather, this blog is for me. Many times over the past *many* years I have attempted a paper journal - a record of my daily life and thoughts. Unfortunately, I have never really persevered. I'm hoping this attempt will be different - maybe typing is better than writing??? My only goal is that in a year (or two, five or ten) I can look at this blog and have a glimpse into what my life as a the wife of a wonderful man and the mom of three amazing children was like.
