Only One

I have had a very relaxing two days. My parents took Seth and Maddy for the night, leaving Greg and I only Kiera. Now, when Seth was young (and an only child) I felt busy. Always busy. Now that I am used to three, having only one was remarkably quiet and calm. Kiera is also much different when there aren't siblings to pest or be bothered by. We had an enjoyable two days - shopping at IKEA and Value Village, building a high chair together, reorganizing and cleaning, and reading books. That being said, I was very glad to see my other two munchkins again!

Discovery

Seth has had the same "old teddy" since he was four months old. It goes everywhere with him. It has been his pillow, his comforter, and his companion for five years. It is the type of teddy that is a blanket with a head and arms - no legs or body (my sister finds in absolutely creepy). Today, however, was the first time Seth discovered this. We were driving to Katie's when I suddenly heard Seth yell, "Hey! Look! My old teddy is a blanket too! It's a blanket and a teddy!" Sometimes I find him incredibly smart ... and other times ....

Little Fashionista

Kiera enjoys dressing herself. Her choices are sometimes a little strange:

Can't wait until her teenage years!

In other news, she has also taken a shine to undressing herself. She is naked (thankfully, still wearing her diaper) within minutes of being put to bed ... and is often naked periodically throughout the day as well. She does try to redress herself, but doesn't always get the clothes on the correct body part. This results in lots of cuteness :)

June

The month of June was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect - low to mid twenties and sunny. We got lots of outside time in. Our yard was in decent condition (although a huge part of it was "seeded" and therefore unusable). The deck got lots of use - we are so thankful for that added "living space". It was fun to spend lots of time enjoying the big outdoors as a family.

Mark and Vicki bought Greg and I a Keg gift card for babysitting Peyton over the past half year. What delicious food! I've never actually been to The Keg, and didn't have any real desire to go - I'm not a "big hunk of meat" sort of person. However, now that I've been, I'd LOVE to go back ... the shrimp was amazing!! After our "date" we wandered into a few of the nearby stores - and picked up these wooden birdhouses for the kids to paint. They really enjoyed this activity, and the birds have enjoyed the benefits!

Always a goof.

There are often some interesting creatures wandering around this house!

Two bottle-drinking beauties! And look at that sunshine streaming in :)

The month of June contained another exciting event - I gained a nephew! Peyton became a big sister on June 16th - and he's a cutie! He slept for the first two (three?) weeks of his life, so we didn't get to hear too much of him ... that is changing now though :D
New babies are always exciting! Such a gift from above!

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to my dear husband!! Of course, this present is six months late ... but it's a pretty good one!

Big enough for the whole family to enjoy (well, except mom!) The best kind of present! Greg has already been out a few times and has really enjoyed it! He's taken Seth and Maddy. Seth, of course, loved it. Maddy, of course, will not get back in it :) Hopefully Greg gets lots more pleasure out of it (once these horrible house renos are done). We're sort of hoping it can turn into a family recreational activity in the future.

No Pool Too Small

We have a nice big plastic pool (nothing crazy great, but still quite substantial!), however, this is the pool of choice around here:

Nice and cozy!

Bubbly Safety

Maddy was having a rough Sunday ... so we fixed her up!

No more bumps and bruises! Of course, this only lasted until she tried to eat her supper ... and realized she was stuck!

Kiera

We have discovered that Kiera is not yet able to say her name ...  She will say "kee" and "rah" but refuses to put them together - she just smiles at us. When I show her a picture of her and ask who it is, she says "Peyton". When looking in the mirror, she points and says "Baby". Little stinker ...
