Seth's birthday falls right after the Family Day Weekend. This year Greg worked on Family Day, then took Seth's birthday off. We celebrated the big number 5 by going to Reptilia, a reptile zoo. There were lots of different reptiles to look at, and we even got to touch and feed some! There was a school group there for part of the morning, which made the place very busy. Once they left, however, we got all sorts of small group attention. We got to learn lots about different reptiles.
There was a small kids' centre with colouring. There was also a small sandbox in the back for the kids to play in. Maddy took full advantage of this, and had lots of fun digging and dumping (I can't wait for summer!!) She was slightly concerned about the amount of sand in her boots :-p
Feeding some lizards. Seth got to put out the bowl of lettuce for them. We were so close!
Checking out the alligator.
Typical Kiera.... running away with a big smile on her face.
Our lunch partner. We ate lunch right beside this big guy ... and he was big! One of the biggest crocodiles in the world. Pretty amazing! Although, I did feel a little sorry for him in his smallish aquarium.
While we were eating, some other people came and looked at the crocodile. They pulled out their phone and took a few pictures. Kiera saw this and immediately ran up to them yelling, "See, See". They showed her their pictures, she said, "ohhh!", then she went back to eating her lunch. So cute! (And so different from her siblings!)
We stayed for a few hours, checked out the animals a few times, went to as many shows as we could, then headed home. We stopped at Boston Pizza for some supper then made it home in time for my parents and siblings to come celebrate. Seth had a great day (and so did we!).
