Here we go ... attempt #3. It's getting a little chilly outside, so the kiddos weren't too happy. Well, Kiera was (ironically). Seth and Maddy were not. And, of course, Snoopy had to join in.

Just Chatting
Kiera is always talking on the phone. Or, "phone". To her a phone is anything - from the palm of her hand to the nunchuk. It doesn't matter what it is - as long as it can be held up to her ear, she will talk. She talks to daddy, Wicki, Peyty, Tatie, Tara, Ma, Pa ... anybody. She has lots to say.
New Entertainment!
We have (finally) purchased a new washing machine ... not a "new to us" washing machine, but washing machine that is really, truly, totally new. This is a first for us - we have bought our last two off kijiji. And ... both have had issues. Our last one leaked. Badly. And it didn't spin. Not so helpful when trying to wash clothes.
So, now that we have a new laundry room, we decided to take the plunge and buy a new washing machine as well. (We also bought a dryer - I was against this, but, since our last one didn't turn off unless you did so manually, Greg thought it was a good idea).
The kids were delighted with the new washing machine - it's almost like TV!
Until, of course, you notice your favourite blankie inside. Then it is 51 minutes of pure torture.
Of course, after 51 minutes you are left with a wet blankie ... which means another half hour of tears while said blankie dries. We had a very happy trip to the dryer later that day to retrieve a warm, clean blankie!
The next day I could not find Kiera's blankie ANYWHERE. Greg and I searched the house top to bottom, but to no avail. Kiera managed to nap without it, but as soon as she was out she started asking for blankie. She kept telling me it was in the laundry ... I assured her it wasn't. Finally she said, "Come mom" and led me to the dryer. I opened it - and sure enough, there was blankie (along with her bunny and cup). I guess the excitement of taking blankie out of the dryer was worth another go!

Snyder's Family Farm
We were blessed with a beautifully warm week near the end of October, so the kids and I took advantage of it and spent a day at a local(ish) pumpkin patch. The weather was gorgeous and there was lots for the kids to do. This made for happy kids and a happy mom!
Climbing up hay bales.
Playing in (on??) the tunnels.
Bouncy balls. Seth LOVED this part!
Kiera's favourite - a random lawn tractor.
We were reading the book Mirette on the High Wire during this week, so this balance beam was a perfect feature.
The Corn Maze. Seth was our fearless leader.
And, of course, pumpkin picking! Kiera hauled this wagon all the way to the field and all the way back again. Not too much stops her when she is determined!
Looking for the perfect pumpkin.
Mom trying (once again) to get a nice picture.
There was also a tractor ride, a train ride, a big playground and a few farm animals. All three kiddos had a great day and were sad to leave. Thankfully a bank mix-up had me sitting in the bank before we left for the pumpkin patch, which resulted in Seth and Maddy receiving some crayons and a colouring book, which made for happy travelers.
Thankful for beautiful weather, healthy kids, and the ability to have some fun!
How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World
We rowed the book How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World and had lots of fun :) Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of all that we did. It was a busy couple of weeks - we got lots done!
We talked about different types of transportation. Seth and Maddy wrote a sentence in their journals:
I put some shapes on the table and told Seth and Maddy to make a picture of any type of transportation they chose. They loved this activity - and made a few of them!
We also did some transportation sorting (land, sky, water) and hunting (in their toys). We did make hot air balloons as well, but no picture of those :(
Mmmmmm.... we played with apple pie playdough. So yummy smelling!
We learned about measurement and played with measuring cups and beans. My house was a mess ... but it was a quiet afternoon!
We did lots with apples too ...
* We read "10 Apples Up On Top"
* We practiced coming up with adjectives by describing apples. We reviewed our five senses and used each one to help us with this activity!
* We cut an apple open and talked about apple parts.
We had lots of fun with this book!
Like Mother, Like Daughter
Check out the "stuffie" that Kiera is carrying. It has been her constant companion for nearly a month ... which is kind of special because thirty years ago Snoopy was MY constant companion. She's just like her momma!
Love
Two of the blessings that God has lavished upon me. So thankful for this handsome man that works hard to provide for and care for his family every day. So thankful for the love that he has for each of his children. And so thankful for the little bundle of personality that is cuddling with him.
Attempt #2
Photo attempt #2 - but mostly only of the youngest because she is the trickiest! The three girls went on a lovely Sunday stroll while the two men stayed home and made pancakes :) It was beautiful weather, and I managed to get a few niceish shots in.
My girls are just so beautiful!
