We have (finally) purchased a new washing machine ... not a "new to us" washing machine, but washing machine that is really, truly, totally new. This is a first for us - we have bought our last two off kijiji. And ... both have had issues. Our last one leaked. Badly. And it didn't spin. Not so helpful when trying to wash clothes.
So, now that we have a new laundry room, we decided to take the plunge and buy a new washing machine as well. (We also bought a dryer - I was against this, but, since our last one didn't turn off unless you did so manually, Greg thought it was a good idea).
The kids were delighted with the new washing machine - it's almost like TV!
Until, of course, you notice your favourite blankie inside. Then it is 51 minutes of pure torture.
Of course, after 51 minutes you are left with a wet blankie ... which means another half hour of tears while said blankie dries. We had a very happy trip to the dryer later that day to retrieve a warm, clean blankie!
The next day I could not find Kiera's blankie ANYWHERE. Greg and I searched the house top to bottom, but to no avail. Kiera managed to nap without it, but as soon as she was out she started asking for blankie. She kept telling me it was in the laundry ... I assured her it wasn't. Finally she said, "Come mom" and led me to the dryer. I opened it - and sure enough, there was blankie (along with her bunny and cup). I guess the excitement of taking blankie out of the dryer was worth another go!
